The RIDHE denounces that recent U.S. immigration policies violate the human rights of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, especially from Nicaragua and Venezuela, by imposing border restrictions, mass detentions and accelerated deportations that jeopardize their safety and dignity.
This situation is aggravated by denying protection to those fleeing humanitarian crises, perpetuating their vulnerability and contradicting democratic and human rights principles. Given this, the organization warns of the devastating impact of these measures and the need for transit and destination countries to guarantee the fundamental rights of migrants.
Finally, it urgently calls on the United States to reevaluate its policies, respect due process and seek lasting solutions that protect the dignity and stability of these populations.
