“Dare to Move” challenges the way of narrating the experiences of migrants and refugees against racism

October 2024

Migration is one of the most complex and challenging realities of our time. People from different regions of the world are forced to leave their homes, whether for economic, political or security reasons. With this context, the European International Human Rights Network (RIDHE) has launched the “Dare to Move” project, an initiative that seeks to sensitize young people and adults about migration, xenophobia and integration through non-formal education and gamification.

What is “Dare to Move”?

This program focuses on empowering young people between 15 and 30 years old, as well as adults, to better understand the experience of migrants and refugees. Using innovative tools such as role-playing and storytelling, participants explore the challenges faced by migrants on their journey, including issues such as racism, prejudice and cultural differences.

Gamification is a key component of the program. Through interactive dynamics, participants put themselves in the shoes of migrants and experience, in a simulated way, the obstacles they face. One of the outstanding games is an adapted version of the classic game of the Goose, where each square represents a challenge related to migration, based on data and real experiences.

Among the objectives of the project are to raise awareness about migration, promote integration and action in schools.

In addition, it is a tool for social change.

“Dare to Move” is much more than an educational tool; it is a call to action so that, from classrooms and communities, we can build a more inclusive and supportive society, where xenophobia and racism have no place. This project invites us to be agents of change, promoting human rights and justice for all people, no matter where they come from.

Join the fight for the rights of migrants and those in situations of forced mobility.
