We promote the strengthening of EU action in favor of human rights defenders at risk.

We develop capacity building initiatives aimed at ensuring the resilience of actors involved in the protection and promotion of human rights in the Latin American Region.

Advocacy missions to accompany human rights defenders.

We develop advocacy strategies for international and emerging civil society organizations and platforms to denounce and support human rights defenders in exile.

EU policies and initiatives with reach outside the EU.

We promote the EU’s strategic leadership at the global level in favor of corporate responsibility and transparency, such as the proposed Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and the forthcoming legislative proposal on forced labor. We also support the EU’s efforts to create socially sustainable jobs in its member states.

REDPRODEPAZ NICARAGUA

We are a network of networks, platforms, articulations, collectives, organizations and social movements in exile collaborating in education, action and research initiatives for the collective design of strategies and methodologies for conflict transformation and peace building as a first step in the process of rebuilding democracy, development and justice in Nicaragua and in preparation for a return to democracy and human security.

EMERGENCY EDUCATION IN SITUATIONS OF FORCED MOBILITY PROJECT

The Education in Emergencies Program was created to help better allocate resources to education in emergencies, specifically with regard to States with a fragile rule of law; to promptly address the consequences of emergencies for migrant children and youth by developing strategic physical and emotional protection measures to ensure their school attendance; to conduct a diagnostic to better understand specific programs for youth and adolescents, including the needs of persons with disabilities; to develop mobile schools for the development of peace education.

GUATEMALA VIOLACIÓN A LOS DERECHOS HUMANOS

Recognition of the criminalization of human rights defenders as a practice that affects the exercise of the right to defend human rights. The institutions of the justice system must assume the mechanisms and internal measures that allow monitoring, identifying and avoiding cases of criminalization of human rights defenders.

In Guatemala, as part of the mechanisms to discourage and delegitimize the defense of human rights, in addition to criminalization, campaigns of persecution, harassment, threats and hate speech are undertaken against human rights defenders through social networks.

ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN FOR CENTRAL AMERICA

Development of a strategic agenda of accompaniment and denunciation before the European Union to contribute to the increase of access to economic and social welfare opportunities for these peoples, through the full exercise of their human rights and the incorporation of their worldview and culture in the goods and services provided by the State and other development actors.

Rock and Water: Psychophysical training in social competences

Rock en Water is a program based on practice and scientific evidence: it emerged from practice while its effectiveness has been confirmed by many studies.

Roca y Agua focuses on promoting positive development of social and emotional skills in children, youth and adults; and to prevent and/or reduce problems in the intrapersonal domain (psychological well-being, internalized behavior, depressive feelings, sexual autonomy) and in the interpersonal domain (social competencies, prevention and avoidance of aggression, bullying and transgressive (sexual) behavior).

As a result, Roca y Agua participants show increased self-awareness, self-control, self-confidence, emotion management, sexual autonomy and reduced depressive feelings. They develop greater resilience, which enables them to better cope with adversity and difficult events (psychosocial trauma), and unacceptable behaviors are reduced.
Roca y Agua is effectively implemented in the education sector, social assistance, refugee work and in the mental health sector.
