
Act to protect the citizens of Nicaragua
On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the popular uprising in Nicaragua, the RIDHE organised an event on 25 April with the aim of developing a debate on initiatives to help Nicaraguan citizens.

On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the popular uprising in Nicaragua, the RIDHE organised an event on 25 April with the aim of developing a debate on initiatives to help Nicaraguan citizens.
On 13 April, RIDHE, in collaboration with Soraya Rodríguez, a member of the European Parliament’s Liberal Group (Renew Europe), organised a meeting with representatives of Nicaraguan civil society.
The event addressed the outcomes of the report “Detained, Tortured and Displaced: The Political Prison and its Aftermath in Nicaragua”.
RIDHE organised an event to give visibility to the struggle of Latin American women to defend their human rights.
The aim of the event was to organise a dialogue between academia and civil society to present the report “Detained, Tortured and Displaced: Political Prison and its Consequences in Nicaragua”.
On May 30, 2022, the RIDHE team organized a screening-debate of the documentary “Nicaragua, free homeland to live” to raise awareness of the situation in Nicaragua.
In the context of the inauguration of the 4th anniversary of the Nicaraguan popular struggle, the RIDHE organised two webinars on 20 and 21 April 2022 entitled “Voices of Exile – Voices of Hope. Nicaragua united in defining its future”, which aims to give visibility to the daily efforts of thousands of human rights defenders.
To raise awareness of the need to end the armed conflict in Colombia, RIDHE, in collaboration with artists from the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, organised a poetry reading on 30 March 2022 to express their struggle for freedom.
On February 7, 2022, RIDHE organized a screening-debate of Khristine Guillard’s documentary film “Les Minuscules” to highlight the Nicaraguan peasant struggle against the construction of the Grand Canal Inter-Océanique.
