OUR WORK

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is one of the main conceptual frameworks for RIDHE’s missions. As such, we are committed to SDGs 4, 5, 13, 16 and 17.

Goal 4 aims to ensure equal access to quality education for all, and to promote lifelong learning opportunities. RIDHE supports this goal by developing projects that help eliminate gender inequalities and promote equal access for vulnerable people, including indigenous people and students in exile.

Goal 5 aims to achieve gender equality, and the empowerment of all women and girls. We ensure the achievement of this goal in our accompaniment projects for indigenous and Afro-descendant women in exile in Costa Rica, guaranteeing them follow-up in the creation of livelihoods and in their administrative process.

Goal 13 aims to strengthen countries’ resilience and capacity to adapt to climate-related hazards and disasters, with a focus on building the capacities of the least developed countries and small insular developing states. We address this in our campaigns against deforestation and extractive activities that do not respect local populations.

Goal 17 promotes effective and inclusive partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society, based on shared principles and values, and placing people and the planet at the heart of their concerns. Through the creation of the RedProdePaz network, we are strengthening the capacities of stakeholders to create cohesion and share best practices with a view to achieving the SDGs.

Goal 16 calls for peaceful and inclusive societies based on respect for human rights, protection of the most vulnerable, the rule of law and good governance at all levels. We guarantee this during our advocacy missions to institutions and by collaborating with human rights defenders.
